Laneville Accelerated School District steeped in tradition and achievement

Historic district merges the very best of old and new

Laneville Accelerated School is a small 1-A school district on Farm to Market Road 225 about 12 miles from Henderson.

It is a school that is steeped in tradition.  The rock building and the rock walls that were built during the Depression still stand.  The bell believed to have been used at the first school in the early 1920s is hanging by the road at the front of the administration building.  The community room (board room) is full of pictures from years past.  Not only are there pictures of the school as it was, but there are also pictures of people who have come and gone and left their legacies.

Laneville has on the one campus an elementary building, a middle school building, a high school building, a technology building, an administration building, a cafeteria, and two gyms.

In the high school building, there is a trophy case which is running over with basketball trophies.  One of the long-standing traditions at Laneville is a winning basketball team.  The teams have been successful in winning many district and regional championships and two state championships.  Laneville students grow up playing basketball and the community enjoys coming to watch Laneville basketball.
